Times:

Q: What are the typical times for a team building program?

A: Our full-day program begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. Our half-day format is offered from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 12 noon to 3:30 p.m.

Locations:

Q: Where does the program take place?

A: Our ropes course is located at the Strawberry Canyon Recreation Area, situated on the east side of the UC Berkeley campus. Our mobile program is totally portable, making location options nearly infinite.

Types of activities: high, low, mobile

Q: What is a "high" activity?

A: A "high" activity at the ropes course is typically 25-30 feet off the ground. Engaging in a high activity requires special safety equipment and facilitator oversight. High activities provide excellent opportunities for addressing issues such as personal achievement, group support in a stressful environment, and information sharing in new situations.

Q: What is a "low" activity?

A: Low activities typically focus on group efforts where critical information needs to be shared, group planning processes employed, and a team vision created. By offering a progression of low activities, groups are able to practice effective behaviors, receive feedback, and make improvements on their problem-solving abilities.

Q: What is a "mobile" activity?

A: Mobile activities are very similar to low activities done at the ropes course. By utilizing a conference room, a local park or simply some available open space, we can create a learning environment where important issues and behaviors can be explored without having to travel or be away from the work environment for an extended period of time.

In-room:

Q: What is the in-room program?

A: Focusing your group on topics such as mission or vision clarification and strategic planning often requires outside facilitation. We can provide a format and a location to utilize our innovative exercises to benefit and accelerate your group planning process.

Participation/Challenge by choice:

Q: What if I'm out of shape or have a fear of heights?

A: The adventure team building program assumes that individuals in a team setting will learn more about working together if it's not under duress. All of our activities are offered under the notion of challenge by choice, which means that each individual chooses the level of challenge that's appropriate for them. Each person on the team will be able to identify a comfortable level of participation during each activity.
