RSF Climbing Wall Project
Weeks 3-15, twice per week

The RSF climbing Wall is run by students in this class and is part of the Climbing Area of Focus. All students, regardless of area of focus, are encouraged to participate in the RSF Climbing Wall project. 2 Program managers fromthe Climbing Area of Focus will be selected  to oversee, manage, and ensure the program's success for the semester.

Student Led Team Building

Sign up for and take the Cal Adventures Ropes Course Facilitator Training for field work as part of an Area of Focus. Find a partner.  Find a Group(s) to serve, design and put on Team Building events for the groups using the Cal Adventures Ropes Course and supplies as resources.

ED 97/197 Field Work Information and Procedure

General Information

1. Space is limited in each Area of Focus and cannot be guaranteed.  If necessary, a selection process will be employed.

2. It is up to you to keep track of your hours in your journal.  We will not accept late semester pleas for extra fieldwork due to mismanagement of time and negligence on your part.

3. 1 Unit, no additional fieldwork required other than class participation.  2 Units, 45 additional hours required.  3 Units, 90 additional hours required.  In order to recieve credit for fieldwork, a written log of all events is required.  The log will include responses to questions posed by the instructor team. Fieldwork will not be considered without proper log entries for each event.

4. 3 No Shows to scheduled field work will result in a Not Pass grade for the course.

6. Field work must be completed by the last day of the semester.  We will not carry over to future semesters.

Procedure
1. Once your Area of Focus is confirmed, it is up to you to contact the appropriate Programs Manager to schedule your time.  A list of Program Managers and Head Instructors will be provided in class.
3. Show up to your placements on time, ready to participate.  Showing up late is unacceptable and will be considered a No Show.  3 No Shows will result in a Not Pass for the Semester.

4. If you cannot make your scheduled and confirmed class or event, you must inform us.  If you do not inform us of your schedule change, we will consider it a no show and record it accordingly.



Reporting Questions

Please answer the following questions for each fieldwork session.  We will ask for them at the end of the semester.  Fieldwork is credited with the answers to the questions complete.  Time answering the questions is not applied to fieldwork.

        Time and Duration
        Instructor

What was the educational objective or goal of this activity?

What specific things did the leaders/instructors do to achieve this objective?

Were there any obstructions that got in the way of achieving the objective?

Relate this experience to our themes and sub themes.
